The employees are also entitled to 4 weeks of unpaid leave that might be taken either before or after birth. A three-month notice must be given to employers of the expected due date. Male employees can have at least 10 days if they prove and acknowledge paternity. This leave must be within four months of the birth. A notice eight weeks before birth with the specific leave dates two weeks in advance. Seychelles’ social security scheme pays maternity benefits. The difference between social security and maternity benefits and the employee’s full salary is paid by the employer.
