From salary payments to human resource management, the services of financial technology companies, popularly called fintech companies, have redefined how businesses carry out routine transactions. The increasing adoption of mobile payments, Blockchain and crypto, among other trends in Ghana, is gradually positioning it as the fintech hub of Africa to being the gateway to Africa.

Every institution cares about when and how salary is paid because timely disbursement of salary payments can boost employees' morale. Efficient handling of salary payments and tax compliance issues can save employers time, money, and errors. Routine employer roles, including monthly salary disbursement, can be automated using payroll solutions like Workpay.

Fintech companies in Africa have seen massive growth and adoption over the years. The need for a forum to facilitate collaboration among stakeholders, investors, and companies has become crucial to the success of the fintech ecosystem in Africa. From its inception, the Africa Tech Summit has become the pivot around which most of these conversations and more revolve in Africa.

Africa Tech Summit is an event that brings experts and thought leaders together to discuss the diverse points of expansion around payroll solutions, financial inclusion, payments, cryptocurrency, and how the ecosystem can gear up for streamlined growth.

The West African edition of the Africa Tech Summit, dubbed Africa Money and Defi Summit, will take place on the 27th and 28th of September, 2022, at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra, Ghana. The two-day event will feature 400+ delegates, 150+ companies, and 75+ speakers covering topics via panel sessions, keynotes, and fireside chats, plus multiple networking events and masterclass sessions, including African and international players to drive business objectives forward.

The African Money and Defi Summit will give a platform to fintech companies like Workpay, an official sponsor of the event, to interact and drive vital objectives and conversations around its niche market.

Workpay's Founder/CEO Paul Kimani will be speaking at the event alongside other African Fintech, Web3, Defi, and Crypto ecosystem leaders.

This Summit will also serve as the portal for companies and investors to enter the West African market through Ghana. This business-friendly country is also considered the gateway to West Africa.

Aside from Workpay, other industry leaders, Chief Executive Officers, Investors, Tech enthusiasts, and company representatives will be present. Companies including Polygon, Paystack, Verifyme, Celo, Flutterwave, BitPowr, Visa, YouVerify and Aza Finance, among others, will be attending the event to connect and showcase their products and services.

One of the primary goals of the players in fintech is to empower and support SMEs to be more productive. This is evident in the changes in how Ghanaians live, do business, make payments, store funds, invest or even buy products, and this is only the beginning.

Workpay is in Ghana to address a pain point of the SMEs: people management. SMEs can now forget about the old ways of running payroll using complicated spreadsheets and the risks of making errors in their payment calculations. No more spending hours in queues to file taxes and pay the social security contributions of its employees, which could take days. Workpay can easily automate all these processes.

Workpay enables companies in Ghana and other African countries to hire, manage, and pay their teams efficiently by handling HR, payroll, and compliance locally and across multiple African countries from one platform.

Workpay expects to engage SMEs in Ghana at the Summit to help them understand better the solution and product and service offerings on the 27thand 28thof September, 2022.

Additionally, if you are based in Accra, you have a chance to connect with the Workpay team in person by joining their Meet & Greet cocktail event on Monday  30th September, 2022 from 5.00 pm WAT at WIMA Hotel.
