Last month, The Bell shared a range of upcoming changes to the People Operations Team. Cryptic reference was made to a new incoming Senior Manager for Global People Operations. We are now happy to reveal breaking news, lift the veil of secrecy, and introduce Jacqueline (Jacque) Mwangi! Jacque started in this new role on April 17th.
Asked to elaborate on her background and experience, Jacque notes that she has “10+ years of People Ops expertise from dynamic roles at Deloitte and Komaza, with a background in managing and shaping the full employee life cycle and crafting HR systems and processes that fuel engagement and drive performance.”
As earlier reported, some of Jacque’s first priorities will be career planning, gender equity and inclusion, and global cultural cohesion. These projects align well with Jacque’s background and motivators: “my passion is unlocking human potential and creating environments where individuals and teams can flourish.”
Jacque will also be taking up leadership of employee events, hopefully maintaining the high standards of fun and excitement that we have come to expect over the years while adding her own personal touch. Outside of work, Jacque makes her home in Tigoni, Limuru, and notes that she is most often found “connecting with nature, whether it's hiking, gardening or simply soaking in the great outdoors,” so perhaps be prepared for some outdoor adventure!
Whatever the case, you should find Jacque in the office most days in the coming weeks, where she asks everyone to please introduce themself and bear with her as she learns names. “I'm excited to collaborate with you all and cultivate a workplace where teams across all levels know what they need to do to succeed, and love to come to work.”
